Would you like a science-based overview of psychedelic-assisted therapy and to understand the role of this treatment method in contemporary mental health care? This training provides an introductory, evidence-based overview of psychedelic-assisted therapy, its mechanisms of action, treatment process, and development in Estonia and worldwide. The training combines a lecture with discussions and leaves time for questions and exchange of ideas.

Training topics
☑️ Psychedelic medicines (ketamine, psilocybin and MDMA; their effects on the brain and psyche, and the scientific evidence to date)
☑️ Psychedelic-assisted therapy (treatment stages, indications and contraindications, the therapist’s role, set & setting, ethics, and safety principles)
☑️ Contemporary clinical trials and drug development (esketamine, ketamine, psilocybin, MDMA, 5-MeO-DMT, and developments in the field)
☑️ International practices (the use of psychedelic-assisted therapy in Canada, Australia, Switzerland, Germany, the Czech Republic, and Estonia)

Trainer
Ethel Rosenfeldt (counselling psychologist)

Ethel is a licensed counselling psychologist and trainer who is completing further training in psychedelic-assisted therapy through the ADEPT programme at the OPEN Foundation in the Netherlands. In her work, she is interested in what makes meaningful change possible and how to combine evidence-based and experiential approaches to achieve it. As a trainer, she believes it is important that new knowledge does not remain merely theoretical, but that a shift in a person’s thinking or experience can begin in the training room.

Who is this training for?
🔹 Psychologists, psychotherapists, psychiatrists, mental health nurses, and other mental health professionals
🔹 Decision-makers and policymakers in healthcare and treatment
🔹 Anyone seeking a science-based introduction to a rapidly developing field
