Hans Zimmer: Organ and Gongs

HANS ZIMMER. A CONCERT SOUND JOURNEY WITH ORGAN AND GONGS, ACCOMPANIED BY VIDEO PROJECTIONS

2 December / 19:00 / St. John’s Church, Tallinn

Gong musicians bring together the sound of their instruments and the majestic sound of the organ. A unique soundscape emerges through free musical improvisation, culminating in Hans Zimmer’s music from the films “Interstellar” and “Dune”. Every concert is one of a kind.

Silence and the gentle sounds of bells gradually give way to the deep vibrations of gongs and the powerful sound of the organ. The music seems to reveal the church space in all its acoustic depth—from delicate sounds to sweeping musical waves.

The concert’s visual element, based on light dramaturgy, creates a special atmosphere. Light becomes an extension of the music: it moves with the music, highlights the church’s architecture and helps the audience experience the music more deeply.

The first part of the concert is an immersive sound experience. Gongs, flat bells and the organ come together in live improvisation. This world of sound invites you to pause amid the bustle of everyday life, quiet your thoughts, listen to the music and the silence, appreciate the beauty of the moment and make time for inner reflection.

Then Hans Zimmer’s music fills the space—epic, emotional and reaching into infinity. The power of the organ and the deep sound of the gongs give familiar works a new dimension. This is not simply a performance of Hans Zimmer’s music, but a musical journey from silence to grand sound, from reflection to a sense of infinite space.
