Clients with rosacea come to a cosmetologist with more than just redness. They often also experience sensitivity, inflammation, vascular reactions, a damaged skin barrier, intolerance to familiar active ingredients, and persistent flare-ups. The specialist’s main question is: what can be done in practice? How do you properly assess the skin’s current condition? What can you recommend for home use? Which procedures are appropriate, and which could make the condition worse? When can a cosmetologist work independently, and when should a doctor be involved? And how do you build a comprehensive client care strategy?
In this training, we’ll cover a systematic approach to rosacea, from the initial consultation and at-home protocol to in-clinic procedures, medical care, and long-term monitoring of results.
What you will learn to do:
- Take a thorough medical history and assess the skin’s condition
- Distinguish the main manifestations of rosacea
- Understand the limits of a cosmetologist’s scope of practice
- Create individual at-home protocols
- Select active ingredients and combinations of ingredients
- Restore the damaged skin barrier
- Choose suitable in-clinic procedures
- Understand which procedures may trigger a flare-up
- Combine cosmetic care with medical treatment
- Monitor progress and adjust the client’s care plan
Two speakers, two professional approaches
Anastasia Zhukova | aesthetic cosmetologist and nutritionist with 17 years of experience
In the practical session, Anastasia will cover the entire process of working with a client with rosacea, from the initial consultation and medical history to creating an at-home protocol, restoring the skin barrier, and selecting in-clinic procedures. You’ll learn which active ingredients and professional products to use for sensitive and vascular skin, how to adapt care during a flare-up, and how to combine home care with procedures. We’ll also cover flare-up prevention, individual triggers, nutrition, and lifestyle, with specific plans and solutions you can apply in your practice.
Marina Khar | cosmetic physician, hematologist, internist, and nutritionist
In the medical session, Marina will discuss rosacea from a doctor’s perspective: current understanding of the condition, its main clinical manifestations, causes of recurrence, and conditions that should be distinguished from rosacea. You’ll learn when a client needs medical diagnosis and treatment, what approaches and prescription therapies are used today, and how to combine them safely with cosmetic procedures. We’ll also discuss the vascular component, the possibilities of photo- and laser technologies, and the clear boundaries between a doctor’s and a cosmetologist’s scope of practice.
Real clinical cases
We’ll discuss real cases using this sequence: medical history → skin condition → medical assessment → home care → procedures → progress → adjustments to the strategy → outcome.
You’ll see not only “before and after” results, but also understand why the specialist made those decisions.
What you’ll receive
After the training, you’ll have not only a new framework of knowledge, but also ready-to-use materials for your practice: an initial consultation protocol, medical-history checklists, at-home care and skin-barrier restoration plans, examples of active ingredients and professional products, in-clinic protocols, and an algorithm for collaboration between a cosmetologist and a doctor. Every participant will also receive a certificate of completion.

- Work more confidently with clients with rosacea
