VIA Klyukva presents a one-of-a-kind project! “Cranberry Juice” is a series of music lecture-parties: a refreshing mix of fascinating facts from the world of music, jokes, quizzes, songs and dancing.
We’ll meet at a cozy, spacious bar where you can:
- Learn lots of interesting things about an iconic musician, genre, sound or event—with jokes, behind-the-scenes details and live demonstrations.
- Take part in a themed quiz.
- Sing karaoke and dance to songs on the night’s theme.
- Meet great people who are curious about the music industry behind the scenes and enjoy having fun.
- Have a great time and reminisce.
The theme of this “Juice” is Maxim Fadeev and the artists he has worked with. He is a man who turned personal pain, a difficult temperament and absolute perfectionism into one of the most successful music empires in Russian-language pop.
Linda, Total, Glukoza, Irakli, Serebro, Nargiz, Yulia Savicheva, Katya Lel, Monokini, Polina Gagarina and many others—artists whose voices and images became part of different eras. Behind each of these projects was one person who knew how to create striking concepts and turn performers into bona fide brands.
But who is he really: a brilliant producer, or someone impossible to work with? How did Fadeev go from underground musician to hitmaker whose songs everyone knows? Why did some of his artists become stars while others disappeared? How did Linda’s dark aesthetic, Serebro’s international success and the Glukoza phenomenon come about? And how did a man with a difficult temperament keep getting the formula for a hit right?
We’ve done the musical calculations, examined Maxim Fadeev’s major projects and tried to understand the central paradox of his career: how could one person create music loved by millions while also becoming one of the most controversial figures in post-Soviet show business?
After the main part of the evening—an interactive stand-up lecture—we’ll move on to the party: a quiz about Max Fadeev’s music, followed by singing and dancing to his biggest hits. You can simply listen, dance, or perform your own favorite songs.
The event runs all evening on November 20 (Friday), starting at 18:30, at the cozy, spacious RM Lounge (Parda 8).
