Should you pour your heart into making a single, unique item, or produce the same thing multiple times to make a living from it? Sooner or later, many creative entrepreneurs who make products face this question. On the one hand, they want to create unique designer pieces; on the other, they need to ensure a stable income and the sustainability of their business. How can you balance creative freedom with business realities? Are one-of-a-kind creations and series production really mutually exclusive? At the seminar, we’ll explore the questions that small-scale producers and designers grapple with every day.
What will we do at the seminar?
Designer and creative entrepreneur Hertta Võido will talk about her journey from creative professional to entrepreneur and speak candidly about the realities of small-scale production:
- How she has maintained her signature style while making sensible business choices.
- The everyday challenges and practical bottlenecks of small-scale production in the Estonian market.
- When and how she has considered increasing production volumes.
- How she produces larger quantities without losing her distinctive look and signature style.
Speaker: Hertta Võido (creator and designer of the HERTTA brand)
Hertta is a creative entrepreneur whose distinctive knitwear and coats have a strong signature style. She shares first-hand experience of the joys and challenges of entrepreneurship and organising production, and of doing what she truly loves while remaining financially sustainable.
