What happens when silence and light meet?
HALO: “Silence and Light” is a unique spatial performance in which movement, live music, light and architecture intertwine to create a unified artistic experience. Choreographer Teet Kask and musician Kristjan Kannukene invite the audience to explore the dialogue between space, sound and movement. The historic architecture is not merely a backdrop: it is an active participant that shapes both the course of the performance and the audience’s experience.
The performance takes as its starting point the philosophical concept “Silence and Light” by world-renowned architect Louis I. Kahn. It was also the title of his famous lecture delivered at ETH Zürich in 1969. In Kahn’s thinking, silence represents the original potential for creation, while light makes that potential visible. From their encounter, form, presence and creativity emerge.
Come and experience how music, the body and space create something that cannot be fully conveyed in words.
