PUNKT Theatre’s production “The War Has Not Yet Begun” is based on the play of the same name by contemporary playwright Mihhail Durnenkov. Eight short stories from life. After a conference in another city, a businesswoman away from her husband and children has sex in a hotel with a man for whom it is his first time ▪ After a long absence, a son visits his elderly parents for just one day ▪ A strange young woman and a gloomy worker meet in a doctor’s waiting room ▪ A news anchor tries at home to calm his wife, who has been watching television for too long ▪ A violent man finds his wife’s diary, in which she describes a relationship with another man. In short, these are funny and sad short scenes from different people’s lives at a time when “The War Has Not Yet Begun.” Audiences can expect an unforgettable theatre experience: the action takes place in a truly intimate space, where there is almost no boundary between the stage and the audience. There are only the audience, the actors, and the actors’ performance. Directors: Artjom Garejev and Viktor Marvin. Artjom Garejev is the recipient of the Estonian Theatre Union’s 2016 directing award. Cast: Natalia Dymchenko, Viktor Marvin, Pavel Kornyshev. Natalia Dymchenko was nominated for the Estonian Theatre Union’s Supporting Actress Award in 2011 and 2023, and for the Actress Award in 2018. Viktor Marvin was nominated for the Estonian Theatre Union’s Best Actor Award in 2025 for a role created that year. Running time: 1 hour and 20 minutes. The performance is in Russian, with Estonian subtitles. Some profanity is used in the performance. To preserve the atmosphere, latecomers cannot be admitted after the performance has begun. Thank you for your understanding. Tickets are neither refundable nor exchangeable for another date, except if PUNKT Theatre cancels the performance.
