DISAINIjutud – Can design pay the bills?

Is design a calling, a business, or both? And can you really make a living from creative work in Estonia? At the pre-event for Pärnu DISAINI Day, we’ll explore a side of the design world that isn’t always visible in finished products and beautiful photos. We’ll talk about how creative work becomes a business, how much a designer also has to be a salesperson, marketer and businessperson, and what it takes to make your ideas succeed in the market.

The discussion brings together people with very different perspectives: Kaubamaja Marketing Director Britta Ratas, OOT-OOT Studio co-founder and designer Marko Ala, and Teddy Studio founder Helena Kerstina Veensalu. The discussion will be moderated by Aleksander Algo.

This is an honest conversation about design beyond the creative side too: money, entrepreneurship, risks, compromises, and why people do it all anyway.
