BÄNDILABOR – free course for young people

Tallinn Music School invites music-interested students aged 12–19 from Tallinn schools to the Bändilabor course, which runs throughout the 2026/27 academic year. The main aim of the course “BÄNDILABOR. The basics of rhythm music and playing in a band for beginners” is to provide young people with instrumental skills, aged 12–19, with practical and systematic instruction in band playing and rhythm music. The course develops their ensemble skills, musical horizons and professional teamworking ethic. The project fills the gap between individual instrumental instruction and real ensemble playing by creating a supportive environment where young people learn about different music genres, from jazz to pop, acquire improvisation and arranging skills, and gain initial experience accompanying a soloist and creating music together. Bändilabor is led by jazz pianist, keyboard player and composer Artis Boriss. You can choose between two groups: Monday or Wednesday, 18:00–19:30. Registration: https://forms.gle/fGTWbMAtZQKpbMH28. The course begins on 5 October. Classes take place at Tallinn Music School (Narva mnt 28, 10120, Tallinn), in classroom 104 of the courtyard building.
