Florian Zeller’s “The Father”
A drama in seven scenes, in one act
Duration: 1 hour and 5 minutes
According to French playwright and novelist Florian Zeller, it is a “puzzle” in which a piece is always missing. André, the protagonist who has dementia, searches for the truth and strives for clarity. He tries to piece together the missing parts of the puzzle. What is happening in the apartment? Who are these “familiar strangers”? How and when do situations experienced in the past come back to life? What does time do to a person?
