Karula Teater’s production “Ähijärve Bus Stop”

Karula Teater’s production “Ähijärve Bus Stop,” seasoned with humour, takes audiences back to Karula National Park in the 1990s, while the stories told also transport them to much earlier times. The production draws on stories recorded by the Estonian Literary Museum and on the recollections of Jüri Drenkhan and Tamaara Dräbtsinskaja. Many fascinating people have lived in Karula, and their stories could fill several books, but a somewhat arbitrary selection of the material was made for the production. The production was created collaboratively by Karula Teater and premiered in 2023 at the 30th anniversary of Karula National Park.
