We Know What We Have to Do, but We Don’t Know How We’ll Get Re-elected | Tartu Uus Teater

What can a roomful of people agree on? Kinoteater’s new production tries to set party preferences aside and take a fresh look, ahead of the elections, at what is going well and what is going badly in Estonia. Or can we even agree on what is going well and what is going badly? By sifting through experts’ ideas from different fields and adding our own—and yours—along the way, we’ll try to put together our ideal programme. No matter how big or small. With every audience, each time anew. One of a kind, democratic, playful. What changes do you think are essential right now? Will they even make it onto the agenda, or are they too “unsexy” to talk about ahead of the elections? And what would you be willing to give up for them if you weren’t afraid of not being re-elected? We’ll use smartphones for voting and actors for campaigning on stage: Henrik Kalmet, Mari-Liis Lill, Riina Maidre, Laurits Muru (Tallinna Linnateater) or Robin Täpp (Teater Nuutrum). And a string quartet: M4GNET. The production is put together by Paavo Piik, Henrik Kalmet, Mari-Liis Lill, Teele Pärn (Eesti Draamateater), Kaur Saarepuu, Linda Mai Kari, Priidu Adlas and Rasmus Puur. Co-producers: Kanuti Gildi SAAL and Tartu Uus Teater. Supported by: Eesti Kultuuriministeerium and Eesti Kultuurkapital. Communications and marketing: Liine Jänes.
