On 15 November, the closing concert of the Tartu Folk festival will take place at Eesti Rahva Muuseum. The concert, presented as a web broadcast, will feature atmospheric interludes about the headliners and the distinctive features of their home regions. The concert will be hosted by Kaarel Pogga (Rahvusteater Vanemuine) and Tuule Pihlap (Folklooriklubi Maatasa).
As is tradition, the festival’s headliners come from the Baltic and Nordic countries. They will share their cultural traditions: award-winning Ung í Dansi (Faroe Islands); Dolija, a youth group from Vilnius Žvėrynas Gymnasium (Lithuania); the Latvian folklore group Skandinieki, celebrating its 50th year of activity this year; Muhu folkloorirühm UIJEE, awarded the title of Folk Group of the Year; and the organising group Folklooriklubi Maatasa, sharing the traditions of Tartumaa and Southern Estonia.
Tickets: 15/10 (concession: pupils, students and pensioners). Supporter tickets (30 EUR) and festival passes (35 EUR) are also available. Tickets are on sale at Fienta and at the venue from one hour before events begin. More information on the Tartu Folk website: https://tartufolk.ee/event/xi-tartu-folk-12-15-novembril/
