One day, the Forest Sprite arrived from the woods, carrying an old wicker basket and five mysterious little bags. Each bag hides one feeling and one small story. Together with the Forest Sprite, children set off on a journey through joy, sadness, anger, courage and peace. They listen to stories, think along, offer answers, and discover how feelings can come and go inside us.
- Can sadness sometimes arise before we know the whole story?
- What happens when something simply does not work out at all?
- Is the unknown always as frightening as it initially seems?
- And where do we find peace when it cannot be taken out of the bag?
“Forest Sprites’ Five Feelings” is an interactive and playful performance in which feelings become stories, objects, questions and small discoveries made together. The Forest Sprite does not tell children what they “should” feel. She shares her own stories, wonders together with the children, listens to their thoughts, and leaves room for those who simply wish to watch and listen. Because no feeling is wrong.
Sometimes a child simply needs the opportunity to notice, understand and experience it safely together with an adult.
At the end of the meeting, each child receives a small personal letter from the forest from the Forest Sprite—to remember that all our feelings can accompany us.
Duration: 35 minutes + playtime afterwards
Best suited for: children aged 4–10 together with a parent
